The After Party
Christians have lost their way when it comes to the intersection of faith and politics, both in the U.S. and throughout history. It’s time to reframe our political identity as we take the lead in healing what’s broken. Jesus’ call is clear: We are to be salt and light in this world. Join us for this six week course–you can drop in and drop out as your travel schedule allows–as we learn to understand our civic engagement in light of the scriptures. We’ll meet in a home together and share reflections and experiences around a table together, navigating our present moment with empathy and encouragement. The class is free, and there is an online component as well, giving you access to the curriculum wherever you might be!

Hosted at the Leavitts - movie screening and discussion will go from 3 pm - 5:15 pm, and then our meal will last the rest of the time! Father's Day Lunch
For many of us, Father’s Day is a celebratory day as we remember and celebrate the joy and care our earthly fathers have showed for us! However, we also know that it can be a challenging day, particularly for those who have lost their fathers or who are separated from their families and unable to celebrate with them. That’s why we’ve created this event: it is an opportunity for anyone who does not have a place to celebrate Father’s Day, or for anyone for whom Father’s Day can be particularly difficult. You are welcome to join us for a lunch after church: there will be some opportunities to reflect and celebrate fathers near and far, share about the challenges the day can present, and play some games/enjoy community together. Bring your own lunch and we will father at 12:30 on the 16th!
Splash Saturday
We’re calling all Midtowners & friends to connect and come cool off with some water play at Edison Park. Mark it on your calendar! It is a really simple splash pad, plenty of room for adults & kids to be creative and play together. We’ll have some fun games to play and popsicles to snack on. There isn’t any shade around the splash pad, but bring a canopy if you have one and we’ll make our own shade. Chairs and/or blankets to sit on are also encouraged. You can RSVP directly to Elizabeth at 623.910.3322
Congregational Meeting
Join us for our annual congregational; we will have space for updates on our session, nominating committee, financial details, and a presentation on what’s next at Midtown in the next year! Plus - lunch is provided! Don’t miss out; please sign up on our website so we know how much food to get!
Movie Night
Another film and discussion night coming up at the Leavitt home! Bring a friend and a favorite movie snack to share as we take in the Critics Choice award-nominated film from 2023, Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret together. It’s an adaptation of the beloved Judy Blume novel on a young girl coming of age and all of the joys and pitfalls of that journey. It’ll make you laugh, it’ll make you cry, it’ll make you think - about life, work, faith, and so much more. Don’t miss it!
