SERIES OVERVIEW
Every year it seems our world has on offer new disappointments. Failed political, economic, and social solutions to our anxiety, our division, our uncertainty, and our loneliness heap increasingly more weight upon us, and it often feels like we are trudging through a desert, thirsty for real hope, real life. We find ourselves looking for something living, something lasting, something that can actually change us.
In our new sermon series, "The Search: Living Water In Desert Lives," we walk alongside the Samaritan woman in John 4 who herself navigated constant disappointment from the structures and relationships of her day. Yet, unknown to her, another tedious, routine trip to the well would change her life–and the lives of countless others, including Jesus’ disciples–forever. The very thing her soul, mind, and body were searching for was found there, under the baking midday Samarian sun: living water in her desert life, the very same thing we need in our own deserts today.
